The Weaver Road Water-tower in Germantown

Germantown will soon have a new water tower on Weaver Road thanks to an Ohio Environmental Protection Agency loan. The city received $2.3 million in funding through the . The city is going to construct a new water tower and a water telemetry system, which will help monitor water levels.

At last week鈥檚 city council meeting, Germantown City Manager Judy Gilleland said the community has been waiting for this for a long time.

鈥淭his project has been several years in the making and it鈥檚 great to see it come to fruition." She says, "thank you to our staff and consultants for their hard work.鈥

An Indiana company, , won the construction bid. Germantown has historically had , but after the completion of the new tower, officials expect improvement.
