The Democratic senator says tariffs should primarily be used as a temporary tool to get to a long-term trade policy.

鈥淲e start by working with our allies. We focus the tariffs on China; on countries that cheat. They shouldn鈥檛 have to last very long if we work with our allies. And that lesson鈥檚 been lost on the President. And it contributes to a more uncertain economy and a more uncertain world.鈥
