Veteran Nick Vogt lost both legs after an IED exploded in Afghanistan while he was leading his platoon in 2011. Through a new Military Medicine Program at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center, Vogt got the surgery to improve his life.

27 Ohioans died in military service between April 2007 and last month. The state honored them with a public wreath laying ceremony at statehouse square.
