Can his legal team's claims that he has late-onset Alzheimer's disease and dementia put a pause in the sex trafficking trial of former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries?

Prosecutors allege that for nearly two decades, Michael Jeffries, his romantic partner and a third man lured men into taking part in sex parties by dangling the promise of modeling for the clothing retailer, once famous for its preppy, All-American aesthetic and marketing with shirtless male models.

Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Michael Jeffries and two other men have been arrested on sex trafficking and interstate prostitution charges, a spokesperson for federal prosecutors said Tuesday.

The BBC, last year, first interviewed several men who said Mike Jeffries abused and exploited them in a sex-trafficking ring. The men later filed a civil lawsuit against the former CEO.

Actor and former Abercrombie and Fitch model David Bradberry filed the lawsuit in federal court in New York City Friday, claiming Jeffries assaulted him and numerous other men in New York and internationally in London and France.

An investigation by the BBC reveals multiple men have come forward saying they were recruited for sex events hosted by former Abercrombie and Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries and partner Matthew Smith around the world.

The retailer says it hired an outside firm to look into the claims against Mike Jeffries. It's a major test for a brand that's remaking its image for a socially conscious era.
