Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson is endorsing Nina Turner in the race to succeed Marcia Fudge in Congress, Turner鈥檚 campaign said in a news release Wednesday.

The 鈥淒ennis!鈥� yard signs aren鈥檛 back out quite yet, but former Rep. Dennis Kucinich has taken a step toward a Cleveland mayoral bid. Kucinich filed paperwork with the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections this past week to form the 鈥淩eelect Mayor Kucinich鈥� campaign fundraising committee, according to Joe Tegreene, an attorney acting as treasurer for the committee. That鈥檚 reelection to the job he held 41 years ago.

Updated: 5:46 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2020 Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson issued an order Friday afternoon requiring face covering anywhere in public in Cleveland. Jackson's order also set a maximum occupancy of 50 percent at all bars and restaurants. The city will shut down any bar with two violations of the maximum occupancy order.

Updated: 8:20 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2020 Wearing masks and speaking to jailed defendants by videoconference, judges on Monday began hearing the cases of the dozens of people arrested during the weekend鈥檚 demonstrations in Downtown Cleveland. Defendants face charges including aggravated riot, breaking and entering and failure to comply with a police officer鈥檚 orders. Most of those arraigned Monday received personal bonds, allowing them to leave jail without putting down any money.

In Governor Mike DeWine鈥檚 first budget due later this week, he plans to allocate $10 million to the State Child Health Insurance Program for lead cleanup projects, the same amount as in the previous budget. He鈥檒l also call for a $10,000 tax credit to homeowners for lead abatement projects. DeWine laid out the new measures to address lead contamination in Ohio during a visit to University Hospital鈥檚 Rainbow Center for Women and Children Wednesday.
