About 80% of schools in Ohio allow students from other districts to attend their schools in a process known as open enrollment. The ones with closed enrollments, think New Albany, Dublin, Upper Arlington and Westerville, tend to be wealthy and suburban.
A movement is afoot in Ohio, advanced by school choice advocates, to mandate open enrollment statewide. Districts with closed or limited outside enrollment say that鈥檚 misguided.
