With rising debts and huge payouts to come from decades-old sexual abuse cases, the national Boy Scouts of America organization filed for bankruptcy last month.

The move will allow the national group to keep operating, create a trust to pay hundreds of potential sexual abuse victims and narrow the window for future claims.
