Last week, the Ohio House Republicans state Rep. Ryan Smith (R-Bidwell) as House Speaker over challenger Rep. Larry Householder (R-Glenford). The fight doesn't end there, however, as the full House votes on Monday. The rift between Republicans also mean that Ohio Democrats have found themselves with a modicum of power.

Our governor's days in office are numbered and he's still considering his next move. If Gov. John Kasich is contemplating a , he might have some competition from another former governor.  Mitt Romney, former governor of Massachusetts and recently elected Senator from Utah, appears to be laying his own foundation for a potential run.

Snollygoster Of The Week

The Ohio legislature Kasich’s veto on a bill that increased death benefits for the families of first responders, but also hiked wages for lawmakers and other elected officials. Whether or not the lawmakers deserved a raise, critics have called it a particularly sneaky move.
