A tornado touches down.

The National Weather Service has confirmed a weak tornado briefly touched town in southeast Licking County during Tuesday night’s storms.

The tornado traveled about five miles through Franklin Township and was on the ground just after 8pm.

Winds of about 75 mile-per-hour caused minor damage to barns, outbuildings and trees.

There were no reported injuries.
