Students at will be able to return to classrooms five days a week this fall.
Superintendent Talisa Dixon announced at a Columbus Board of Education meeting Wednesday that the district would return to classrooms full-time for the next school year. She plans to release more details about student options in the coming weeks.
If students prefer, they will be allowed to enroll in the district鈥檚 fully online digital academy this fall.
The nearly 47,000 students within the Columbus City Schools are currently operating in a . Students attend classes twice a week in-person and work remotely the other three days.
It took more than a year for some students to return to classrooms ever since the pandemic shuttered schools. Columbus began returning K-5 students to classrooms in February, and then in March added grades 6-12.
