With just one week to go before the Ohio primary election, the Secretary of State says more than 170-thousand votes have already been cast.
Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted says Ohio voters have requested more than 325-thousand absentee ballots. With the March 15th primary just a week away, Husted's office says more than 173-thousand votes have been cast.
That leaves more than 155-thousand votes outstanding.
In what it calls an informal survey of all of Ohio's counties taken at the end of last week, the Secretary of State says votes cast are split almost equally among Democrats and Republicans...even though a higher number of Republican voters have requested an absentee ballot.
Husted says in 2012, more than 335-thousand Ohio voters requested an early primary ballot. In 2008, that number was more than 557-thousand.
In addition to presidential candidates, Ohio voters will select candidates for the U.S. Senate, the Ohio Supreme Court, Congress and the state legislature along with many local races.
