Jeni鈥檚 Splendid Ice Cream announced Friday afternoon it will re-open tomorrow night after a week-long closure due to a second listeria contamination.
Jeni鈥檚 founder Jeni Britton Bauer wrote that 鈥淭he menu will be limited at first,鈥 but stores will open at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Jeni鈥檚 scoop shops were closed and production was halted, last week, after a routine swab test found listeria a second time.
Britton Bauer said Smith's Dairy in Orrville, Ohio made all the ice cream for the re-open. Smith鈥檚 Dairy has provided Jeni鈥檚 with cream and milk for some time.
鈥淭hey pulled out all the stops to get our ice cream made and have done a stellar job of it,鈥 Britton Bauer said.
Smith's will provide ice creams and yogurts to the scoop shops while Jeni's continues to try to fix the problem at its production plant.
The second closure lasted a week, much shorter than the first listeria contamination which shut down production for almost a month.
