As high school seniors across Ohio prepare to walk across that stage to collect their diplomas, many have already chosen their next steps after high school, but a number of the state鈥檚 higher education institutions are still accepting applications from students who may not have yet decided where they鈥檒l be in the fall.
The National Association for College Admission Counseling still have room for both first-time freshmen and transfer students.
The list includes both private and public schools of all sizes, from Ursuline College in the Cleveland area with an enrollment of about 1,100 to Kent State University with more than 40,000 at its Kent and regional campuses.
Cleveland State University Admissions Director Lee Furbeck said her department will accept applications into the summer months and is still conducting recruiting events throughout Northeast Ohio.
鈥淲e find that particularly with transfer students, they鈥檙e thinking about their finals at their previous institution right now and they鈥檙e not going to start thinking about what comes next until maybe a couple of weeks from now,鈥� she said, so CSU鈥檚 outreach events aim to get potential transfers thinking about the application and enrollment process.
At CSU, Furbeck said incoming freshman need to fill out an application and provide a high school transcript along with ACT or SAT scores. For transfer, students with more than 12 hours need a transcript from their current college or university along with their application.
