Miriam Burns is back at Ohio State!
Miriam Burns is a conductor born and raised in Westerville, a proud product of Westerville South High School, and a former Ohio State University student while still in high school (鈥渆arly admission!鈥�).
She鈥檚 made her home in New York for many years but I don鈥檛 know how often she鈥檚 there. Burns is currently music director of Tysons McLean Orchestra in Virginia and conducts regularly in New York with the Orchestra of the Redeemer.
She was on staff with the New Philharmonic as one of their cover conductors, having been appointed by Kurt Masur as the result of a competitive audition.
She鈥檚 been Music Director of the Tallahassee Symphony, the Kenosha Symphony and the Lawton Philharmonic.
Now Miriam Burns returns to Ohio, three days a week, as professor of conducting at The Ohio State University School of Music.
