The Lincoln Theatre was the place to be last week as and the Columbus Jazz All Stars gave the first jazz performance in the 1920's era theatre in over 50 years. Stripling was his usual engaging, entertaining self, and was surrounded by some of Columbus' best jazz musicians... on drums, on keyboards, and Chris Berg on double bass. For some, who went to concerts in the Lincoln's heyday, it was an emotional moment. As they entered the revitalized auditorium for the first time in decades, some were in tears. Everywhere they looked, "wow" was often the first thing out of their mouths. I was honored to be allowed to welcome the audience and to host 's live radio broadcast of the event. If you missed it, you'll have the opportunity to see the concert and more on Wednesday, July 1st at 10:00pm. However, there's more to the than just concerts, as you'll hear in the broadcast's intermission feature below.
