A suspect is due in court Monday after a deadly shooting inside the Mall at Tuttle Crossing on Sunday.
Police said Dontarius Sylvester, 25, died after being shot inside the Sole Shop store.
鈥淚t鈥檚 concerning because they鈥檙e obviously highly-populated locations. But this appears to be an isolated incident,鈥� Columbus Division of Police Sgt. Joe Albert said in a press conference outside the mall.
Holly Rankin also spoke to reporters in the mall parking lot. She said she was in the dressing room at a nearby store when shots rang out. Employees helped her and other customers flee the mall.
鈥淚 just wanted to get out of the mall, if I had to run or whatever. It鈥檚 just like so many things, like your life and what you鈥檝e wanted to accomplished鈥t just goes through your mind,鈥� Rankin said.
The suspect in the shooting, Tyrone Gray, Jr., 24, was arrested shortly after. He faces one charge of murder and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
