Mayor Ginther announced on Tuesday that Columbus is joining , a nonpartisan coalition and campaign that works with local communities to develop equitable clean energy solutions. Columbus is the twenty-fifth Ohio city to join the coalition.
鈥淛oining Power A Clean Future Ohio gives us an opportunity to ensure Ohio is doing its part to preserve our environment and reduce our carbon emissions,鈥 Ginther said in .
Joe Flarida, the Executive Director of Power A Clean Future Ohio said that PCFO "looks forward to supporting the City in its efforts to build a clean energy future for Columbus.鈥 Flarida also commended Mayor Ginther on that was announced earlier this month, which commits to a reduction of carbon emissions by 45% by 2030.
鈥淏y joining Power A Clean Future Ohio, Columbus joins a strong network of local communities who are working to reduce emissions and increase their resiliency to the impacts of climate change," said Ohio Environmental Council Executive Director Heather Taylor-Miesle.
Other cities that have joined Power A Clean Future Ohio include Upper Arlington, Worthington, Bexley and Reynoldsburg.
